I've been to Barcelona multiple times and want to see other parts of the city that I would never have seen on my own. While I'm capable of seeing anything, as a solo female I always prefer to go with someone if it's off the beaten path. I took a civil war tour with Nostos before and it was great so I found that they started a cemetery tour! I've always wanted to go to the cemetery here but it's a bit out of the way so this was perfect. The guide was Onno, the same guide I had two years earlier which was perfect because he knows his stuff. At the beginning of the tour he showed us the map of the cemetery and it is so large that I'm certain that if Onno didn't take me around that I would still be there. While there is no one super well-known to Americans (I asked Onno if Tupac was buried there and he said "no"), the cemetery is beautiful, no crowds, no pickpockets, and Onno told us about some well-known residences and their stories. He took us to the most beautiful tombs as well as to the mass grave from the Spanish Civil War which I thought was the best part of the tour because it was moving and I would have never found it on my own.
This tour might not be for first time visitors (I was on the tour with two other tourists who have been to Barcelona multiple times before) but if you've been to Barcelona before and are looking for a new activity that is educational and interesting then I recommend this tour. Thank you Onno.
