This is the perfect and safest way to explore arctic nature!
Snowshoes are our favourite way to experience the night sky and potential aurora as it is easy to stop at any time and look around without bright lights, unlike experiences with animals or vehicles. At the same time, we can enjoy exploring and learning about nature.
We will head out away from Levi towards areas of natural beauty with as little light pollution as possible to give you the best chance of seeing starry skies and northern lights. Depending on the weather, we might go into the forests, or walk beside a river or over a lake or marshland.
During the walk there will be plenty of breaks to just stop and enjoy the darkness and quiet of the forest in the winter. A hot cup of tea or coffee will be served with a sweet home-made snack to keep us warm and energized. If we get lucky, the skies above us can be lit up with thousands of stars or even the dance of the stunning aurora borealis!
