You will first be taken on a walking-tour by the certified tour guide to discover the monumental area, taking the historic and commercial street of Via Toledo. A famous Neapolitan shopping street close to the Spanish quarters and the Maradona mural, the sacred and profane altar of the Neapolitan football legend. Here we will visit the ancient Galleria Umberto I in Naples, the exterior of Castel Nuovo known as the ‘Maschio Angioino’, the San Carlo Theatre, the Royal Palace and the iconic Piazza del Plebiscito. The hub of the city as well as a meeting place for nationally renowned events and concerts.
Then we will walking to the historic centre of Naples, the living and beating heart of the city. Descending from Via dei Tribunali and passing by the city’s historic pizzerias, we will reach the San Gregorio Armeno street, “the street of nativity scenes”, the art of nativity scenes that represents the handicrafts of the Neapolitan tradition best known throughout the world. Folklore, tradition and “cornicelli” will then continue on Spaccanapoli, the street that literally splits the city in two, visiting all the artistic complex of squares and churches. From 18th-century San Domenico Maggiore to medieval Santa Chiara.
The guided tour will ends with the visit of the “Undreground Naples” of the San Lorenzo Maggiore Church monumental complex. The most ancient Naples undreground site where descending 10 meters it’s visible the archaeological there are the remains of the ancient city of Neapolis: the agorà of the greek’s age, first, and the civil and religious Forum of Roman’s age, second. A spectacle to not lost.
