DAY 1
After meeting with your guide, you will head to central and eastern Sardinia. Your first stop will be in upper Ogliastra where a picnic with local products will await you in front of the Bau Mela waterfall, a masterpiece of nature, patiently sculpted by water and embraced by Mediterranean vegetation. The afternoon will continue to Villagrande Strisaili, the town of longevity and the world’s highest concentration of centenarian people. It will be great to take a walk and share some time with the locals, centenarians and non-centenarians alike, over an Italian coffee. In the late afternoon it will be time to discover the nuragic civilization with a tour of the Bosco Seleni archaeological area, one of the most impressive nuragic complexes in the area. Transfer and check-in at the accommodation facility, with B&B formula, near the coast.
DAY 2
After a breakfast with local cuisine, it’s time to delve into the Blue Zone: You’ll visit one of the most impressive caves in Europe, Marmuri Cave, where the beauty of the stalagmites and festoons hanging from the walls is stunning, as is the majesty of its spaces. Afterwards, a local family will be waiting for you for an exciting cooking experience deeply connected to the traditions of the community. You will be an active participant in the making of some regional products, with a rich tasting after the class. In the afternoon, you will move to the mountains where you will admire some of Ogliastra’s most beautiful viewpoints between Ulassai and Gairo Vecchia, and before returning to the B&B you will have an exciting wine tasting in a winery, right where the Cannonau red wine is born.
DAY 3
After breakfast and check-out, you will climb into Supramonte and head to a family of shepherds to learn the art of cheese making and have lunch surrounded by nature with breathtaking views and delicious foods from this land. After lunch, you will visit one of the most striking and well-preserved monuments of prehistoric Sardinia: S’Ena e Thomes. A scenic drive to the mountainous area of Barbagia will introduce you to Dorgali and stroll through its quaint streets, and a workshop of filigree jewelry, pottery and carpet weaving will allow you to discover the village’s craft vocation. Finally, you will return to the Olbia area before dinnertime.
STAY
The stay will be at a B&B facility available according to the period.
