Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located on the Laikipia Plateau near Mount Kenya, is East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary and the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees. It also offers the chance to spot all of the Big Five in a non-crowded setting. This safari is perfect for travelers who want an exclusive, conservation-focused experience within a short trip from Nairobi.
Itinerary: - Day 1: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta Conservancy 6:30 AM – Pick-up from Nairobi hotel/residence Drive via the scenic Thika-Nyeri highway (approx. 4.5 hrs) 10:30 AM – Arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, start with game drive Visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary Stop at the Rhino Information Centre and learn about conservation work 1:00 PM – Check-in and lunch at your lodge (e.g., Sweetwaters Serena Camp or similar) Afternoon rest or optional walking safari (subject to lodge availability) 4:00 PM – Evening game drive with sunset views over Mount Kenya 6:30 PM – Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge - Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Return to Nairobi 6:30 AM – Early morning game drive (best time for predators) Spot elephants, lions, giraffes, rhinos, buffalo, antelope 8:30 AM – Return to lodge for breakfast Option to visit the last two northern white rhinos (extra fee if included) 10:30 AM – Check-out and depart for Nairobi 2:30–3:00 PM – Drop-off at your hotel
