We booked a half-day Toledo tour with VPT Tours from Madrid. The bus driver was skilled, but the bus itself was old and not very clean, which was disappointing and made the journey less comfortable[6]. The VPT guide on the bus provided some general historical background, but the commentary felt superficial and he did not organize a restroom break, which was inconvenient for the group.

Before entering Toledo, we were required to stop at a tourist shop, which cost us valuable time and was frustrating, especially since the time in Toledo itself was already limited[4]. However, once in Toledo, the separate local guide (English/German-speaking) was outstanding-an enthusiastic historian who made the city’s history come alive.

For the return trip, the bus was modern and clean, and everything went smoothly. Overall, the experience was mixed: excellent guiding in Toledo, but the organization and comfort provided by VPT Tours could be improved.
