At the Ceremonial Complex of Akahanga, you’ll be awestruck by the 100-ton basal moai guarding the sacred grounds. Visit Ahu Tongariki, where 15 moai stand, and Rano Raraku volcano, where you can see nearly 400 moai scattered throughout the rim in various stages of completion. You’ll visit Te Pito Kura, known as the Navel of the World, before ending the day at Anakena. This beautiful beach is believed to be the landing place of Hotu Matu’a, who is thought to have discovered the island.
