Discorver two of the most beautifull villages in Cantabria, both declared as historic-artistic ensemble
In this half-day excursion, we invite you to visit two of the most charming villages of Cantabria, Carmona and Bárcena Mayor. Their beauty and the enclave where they are located have also led them to be recognized among the most beautiful villages in Spain and to be listed as a Historic-Artistic Site.
First we will visit the village of Carmona, which is nestled in the Nansa Valley and surrounded by an impressive green landscape, will captivate you for being a village that preserves its historical essence, with cobbled streets, stone houses, sun terraces and gable roofs that seem to be taken from another time. Its rich history and traditions are reflected in the mountain architecture of its iconic buildings such as the parish church of San Roque, the palace of the Mier family and other monuments.
Later we will head to Bárcena Mayor, which is located in an almost magical setting in the Saja-Besaya Natural Park and surrounded by forests and mountains, is one of the best examples of Cantabrian rural architecture. Its iconic bridge, its small palaces and its stone houses, some with slate roofs, will transport you to a fairy tale. Here, the contact with nature is absolute, offering you a pure and serene environment that together with its unique landscape seems to come out of a fairy tale.
In Bárcena Mayor we will walk through its most emblematic streets and houses, to finally have some free time to enjoy its local gastronomy or the tranquility and landscapes that its unique environment offers.
