A detailed tour of the all part and monuments of the Naples historical centre
The historic centre of Naples represents the first historical core of the city. It encompasses almost three millennia of history and is the largest in Italy to the point of being declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. Its exceptional monuments testify to the succession of almost all cultures of the Mediterranean and Europe to the point that in 2017 the BBC described Naples as 'the Italian city with too much history to handle'. An ancient city of Greek origin, Naples transcends all ages and many dominations: from the Greeks, to the Romans to the Angevins in medieval times, to the Spanish in the seventeenth century. All cultures and arts caretterize it: the Greco-Roman, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Art Nouveau. The ancient internal re-foundation of the city, today known as: Historical centre, will immerse ourselves in all the history that has characterised the city in a his meelting-poot of architecture and cultures.
