Langtang valley trek introduces the Tibetan culture and tradition of the people and the natural beauties of the popular peak of the great Himalayas.

This trek is perfect for the Himalayas lover who wants to experience the depth of the culture and ambiance of the Himalayas. Langtang valley trek starts from the Kathmandu valley which lays 60kms to the North. The trek is comparatively easy and suitable for novice to frequent trekkers. The trekking route provides basic accommodation and menu base food items all the way to the last point of Kyanjing Gompa.

The trekking trail goes from the riverbank of the Langtang Khola to the last point. The route gradually takes to higher altitude leaving the green forest of Rhododendron, bamboo, and pine trees. Approaching the cairn, locally known as Chorten which is the sign of entering into the culture of the Himalayas and you will welcome by the giant Himalayas in front of you including the beautiful mountain of Langtang Lirrung (7,227m), you will witness the Gangchenmo, Ganja la peak, and other ranges from the trekking route. The valley is surrounded by mountain ranges and you will see the yaks grazing around you. After reaching the Kyanjing Gompa, you have a day trip to the Langtang Lirung glaciers, Tsergo Ri viewpoint, cheese factory, and the Buddhist Monastery.

Itinerary

SyabruBesi is the initial point for trekking in Langtang valley. It takes about 7 to 8 hours drive to cover 117 km from Kathmandu to SyabruBesi. En route, we can enjoy the scenic views of the mountain and rice terrains. Syabrubesi bazaar is cramped with lodges and hotels. Overnight stay at Hotel. Meal: Full board of three times.

We will depart from the main road and lower down to a camping area via the route opposite the Hotel Village View. The trail further prolongs through the suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi and ascends to Thulo Syabru before crossing a bridge over Langtang Khola. Later the trail leads to a set of six lodges at Langtang which goes by the name of Lama Hotel where we will stay overnight. Meal: Full board of three times.

A short ascent up the hill will take us to the trail that opens up in Langtang valley. The valley offers the breathtaking scenery of Langtang Lirung. Later we will pass through a forest to reach the meadow where yak and the wild goats can be seen grazing. We will stay in the beautiful Langtang valley overnight. Meal: Full board of three times.

Leaving the Langtang Valley, we will climb uphill all the way to Sindum and Yamphu. Later the route takes us through Laja Khola to arrive at a viewpoint that provides the panoramic views of Kyanjin Gompa and icefall from Lirung and Kinshung. Below the viewpoint exists Kyanjin Gompa where we will stay overnight. Meal: full board of three times.

On the 5th day, we will take a well-deserved rest from trekking and ease up our stiff muscles. Kyanjin Gompa offers splendid views of Langtang Lirung, Ganja La and Kenga Himal ranges. The cheese factory, Buddhist monastery, and Tsergo Ri (5033m) are other sites which you would like to visit. Mostly we recommended for Tsergo Ri Hike, which provides you with a stunning view of mountains and when you will be on the top of Tsergo Ri, unbelievable mountains will be surrounded you. Meal: Full board of three times.

After having your breakfast, you will start to go down back to Lama Hotel with a view of Langtang valley and different escape of mountains. Overnight at the teahouse. Meal: Full board of three times.

Today we will hike in the opposite direction of the Gosainkunda trail from where you will see the perfect view of Gosainkunda ranges and some beautiful Tamang villages. Your walk-in the Himalayan wilderness will come to end after arriving in Syabrubesi. Our trekking starting point after 5 hours walk. Overnight at lodge. Meal: Full board of three times.

Seven hours of driving through the serpentine road enjoying the pleasant views of Majestic Mountain, cascading waterfalls, paddy fields, and woods will take us to Kathmandu. We will be conveyed back to our hotel where we will enjoy the evening dinner and head towards our comforting beds. Overnight accommodation is set with BB Plan.

Frequently asked questions

Langtang Valley Trek is an easy hike and culture trek in the Langtang region. This trek leads you to 3830m a maximum height at Kyanjin Goma. The Langtang trek is not a difficult and high-altitude trek in the Langtang region.

March to May and September to December are the best months to trek in the Langtang region. Both seasons Spring (March to May) autumn (September to November) would be a more favorable time to hike or trek in Langtang. If you choose any of these reasons you are able to see an excellent view of mountains with hidden local cultures with majestic landscapes.

The Langtang Valley Trek is not a technical trek. It is a moderately difficult hike that is acceptable for most trekkers. The paths are well-marked, and technical climbing skills are not required. However, because to the altitude gains during the walk, a sufficient level of fitness and acclimatization is required.

Generally, it takes 9 days to complete the Langtang trek plus you need to add the travel time to come here to Nepal and go back to your country. You can also finish it in 7-8 days but hikers may not have time to enjoy it if you have less time. we suggest you have at least 9 days so you have 1 relaxing day at Kaynjin on which day, you can explore the Tsergo ri 4985 Meters or Kyanjin Ri 4687 Meters.

Yes certainly Langtang trek is for beginners, this trek is suitable for all age groups and beginner hikers too. This trek is low altitude less technical and easy to hike due to the trail terrains. If you can walk 6-7 hours a day then you can do it without any problems. Yes, you can go up to the 5000 meters to Tsergo ri but this is an optional trip for you if you like challenges. There is another easy hike to lower Kyanjin ri 4360 Meters from where you can see the perfect view of the Langtang Himalayan Ranges too.
