Darkhan city which is the capital city of Darkhan Uul province, and is Mongolia’s second largest city, with a population of 100000 residents. The modern city of Darkhan, with foundations which were laid in 1961, is one of the Mongolia’s largest industrial centres and has many functioning steel processing factories. Darkhan City was founded on October 17th, 1961 in Burkhant Valley and the city was built with the help of Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Poland, Czechoslovakia Germany and Hungary. Today we visit to nomadic family and horse ride . We introduce with nomadic life. Then we visit the horse herder family and you will have an impression of the daily life of the nomads living in this valley. After lunch, we will hike and experience horseback riding for 1-2 hours. We overnight in tent.
After Breakfast we go to Amarbayasgalant monastery. The monastery is 140 km south east of Darkhan. Visit the exotic Amarbaysgalant monastery and enjoy its history, after lunch. Hiking in and around the monastery and take good pictures. Amarbaysgalant monastery was established by the order of the Manchu Qing Dynasty’s Emperor Kangxi/Enkh-Amgalan Khaan/ and built between 1727-1736 for giving respect to his teacher Undur Gegeen Zanabazar/High Saint Zanabazar/. The monastery consists of over 30 temples and it is one of the less destroyed monasteries in Communist time, which is protected by the Government of Mongolia since 1943. It is an excellent place to enjoy the Buddhist cultural heritage of Mongolia. Overnight stay in a tourist camp.
We will drive to Aglag Buteel Temple, which has a beautiful valley of streams, pine, birches, cedar trees, and mountain area. This is the home of Purevbat Lama, one of the most influential figures in modern Mongolian Buddhism. Set up on a hill, you can hike up to the temple and then follow the path though the forests which takes you past sculptures and sacred places including caves that you can pass through, symbolising cleansing of sins and rebirth. After a great walk around the monastery and having lunch, we will continually drive on asphalt road back to Ulaanbaatar. We overnight in ub.
Terelj National Park. Terelj National Park is a picturesque place of high granite cliffs that were eroded by natural forces creating a wonderful landscape of granite tors as if sculpted by some giant sculptor. Terelj is only 60-70 km east of Ulaanbaatar.Terelj National Park was established in 1993 and covers an area of 2932 square km in the southern Khan Khentii Mountain Range. This park has a landscape of transition from Siberian taiga forest to grass steppe. Most visited places in the park are Turtle Rock formation and and Aryabal Meditation Temple. Visit the Turtle Rock formation the symbol of the national park. Visit a local family and have lunch there. Stay overnight in a Mongolian traditional Ger. 2. Chinggis Khan’s Statue Chinggis Khaan Statue complex is located in “Tsonjin Boldog”, a historical place where Chinggis Khaan found his golden whip. The statue was created as a memorial to the Man of the Millennium “Chinggis Khaan”. The 40 meter high stainless steel statue of Chinggis Khaan on the horseback is the largest of its kind in the world. Visitors can climb to the top of the horse’s head and have a farseeing and panoramic view over the complex area.
