Meet your driver in Marseille and head into the picturesque countryside. Travel east of Aix-en-Provence to reach Vallée de l’Arc, a renowned region for vine cultivation. As you drive, take in the stunning views of Montagne St. Victoire to the north and the majestic Sainte-Baume to the south.
We’ll kick off the day with a visit to downtown Aix-en-Provence, where you’ll discover its beautiful fountains, grand mansions, and the impressive Saint-Sauveur Cathedral (1:30). Then, we’ll immerse ourselves in the world of Cézanne (optional), with a visit to his workshop (ticket not included, 6.5 euros), passing through the famous “Painters’ Field” and “Cézanne’s Portal.”
After this cultural journey, we’ll head towards Château Lacoste, where we’ll explore its contemporary art exhibitions, visit the vineyards, and indulge in a wine tasting to conclude this beautiful day. Depending on the timing, we may also make a stop in Aix’s city center to browse local products like Puyricard chocolates, olive oil, confectionery, and lavender.
