Meet the Guaraní people of the Tenondé Porã tribe, located in the southernmost part of São Paulo. This visit offers a rare chance to experience their rich traditions and ancestral way of life, despite the challenges of modern urbanization. The tribe continues to speak the native Guaraní language and practice sustainable agriculture.
After a scenic 2-hour drive, you’ll arrive at the village, home to around 1,200 Guaraní who practice subsistence farming, growing crops like cassava, sweet potatoes, and corn. You’ll explore their fields and learn about their traditional methods. As you walk through the village, you’ll see children singing, dancing, and playing, along with handmade crafts that reflect the tribe’s deep connection to their land and culture.
You’ll enjoy a traditional Guaraní lunch, prepared on a wood-burning stove with ingredients from their land.
This experience not only enriches your understanding but also contributes to the tribe’s future.
