Caesarea and Beyond. Our next stop is Caesarea, the ancient Roman capital of Judea, renowned in the New Testament. Here, we’ll explore the site where the first Gentile was baptized and where the Apostle Paul spent two years in prison. You’ll have the opportunity to experience the remarkable acoustics of the ancient Roman theater, where we can sing hymns on its historic stage. From Caesarea, we’ll journey to Mount Carmel, the site where the prophet Elijah called down fire from heaven and triumphed over the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18). When it's time for lunch, we’ll visit a Druze village to savor delicious local cuisine, immersing ourselves in the rich flavors of the region. After lunch, we’ll traverse the scenic Armageddon Valley (Revelation 16:16) to Megiddo National Park, a site steeped in history. Our journey continues to Mount Arbel, where we’ll enjoy stunning views of the Sea of Galilee. According to Christian tradition, this is the Mount of the Great Commission (Matthew 28), making it a poignant spot for reflection. In the Footsteps of Jesus Our day begins at Kibbutz Ginossar, where we'll explore "The Jesus Boat," a remarkable 2,000-year-old fishing vessel excavated from the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Here, you'll find a unique shop run by Jewish believers in Jesus, offering Messianic items such as shofars (trumpets), talit (prayer shawls), and Israeli music. Next, we’ll embark on a boat ride across the serene waters of the Sea of Galilee, reflecting on the significant moments of Jesus’ ministry that took place along its shores. Our first stop is Capernaum, known as "His own town" (Matthew 9:1). Jesus lived for three years in Peter’s house, performed numerous miracles, and preached in the synagogue, the ruins of which still stand today. Afterward, we’ll visit Tabgha, the site of the Primacy of Peter Chapel, beautifully situated right by the shoreline. Here, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious "St. Peter’s Fish" lunch, savoring the flavors of the region. Following lunch, we’ll ascend the Mount of Beatitudes for breathtaking views and a moment of meditation on The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7). Our journey continues to Kursi National Park, the traditional site of the miraculous healing of the demoniac, where the demons were cast into a herd of pigs. Nazareth Village and Yardenit. We’ll begin our day in Nazareth Village, where we’ll immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of first-century life. In the Church-Synagogue, we’ll read the same passage from the Book of Isaiah that Jesus read 2,000 years ago, connecting us deeply to His ministry. Next, we’ll visit the Ein Harod spring (Judges 7), where we’ll reflect on the biblical story of Gideon and God's unique way of selecting his 300 warriors. This poignant moment will deepen our understanding of faith and divine purpose. We’ll then have the opportunity to step into the sacred waters of the Jordan River at the Yardenit baptismal site, where you can renew your covenant with the Lord in a beautiful and accessible setting. Before we head home, we’ll stop by a local Kibbutz shop, where you can sample and purchase a variety of regional products, including dates and olive oil. Northern Reaches of the Promised Land. We embark on our day with a visit to Korazin National Park, the city that Jesus cursed, where we can delve into the captivating stories of its past. Next, we’ll journey to the strategic Golan Heights, a site that has witnessed some of the most dramatic battles in the history of modern Israel, intertwining tales of bravery and resilience. Our next stop is the enchanting National Park of Tel Dan, where we’ll explore the rich tapestry of the Old Testament tribe of Dan and see Jeroboam's Altar of Golden Calves, a fascinating piece of history that beckons us to reflect. For lunch, we’ll indulge in delicious victuals at a Druze village, featuring flavors that may already be familiar from our time at Mount Carmel. After our meal, we’ll visit Caesarea Philippi, the traditional site of Peter's confession (Matthew 16:13-20). Here, the intricate landscape and the profound spiritual significance will surely transcend our expectations, creating a beautiful mosaic of faith and history. Beit Shaan and the Jordan Valley. "Come, let us go up to the Mountain of the Lord." Get your cameras ready as we head to one of Israel's most breathtaking archaeological sites—ancient Beit Shaan, a city rich in history mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments. Its stunning ruins offer a captivating glimpse into the past. As we travel along the Jordan Valley road, we'll pass through Jericho, famously known as the City of Palms. This picturesque journey will lead us towards Jerusalem, the heart of our faith. Our first view of the “Capital of the World” will be from the Mount of Olives, where the breathtaking panorama will take your breath away. Our day begins early in the morning as we embark on a sacred journey through Jerusalem, starting with a visit to the Temple Mount (subject to security conditions). Next, we’ll make our way to the Western Wall, where we can feel the weight of history and prayer, followed by an exploration of the Rabbinical Tunnels that run alongside this revered site. Continuing our journey, we’ll visit the Davidson Center Archaeological Park, where we’ll explore the excavations at the retaining Western Wall and the Southern Steps—historical pathways that Jesus walked, including the impressive Robinson Arch. Next, we’ll walk along the Via Dolorosa, retracing the final path of Jesus, reflecting on His journey and sacrifice. We’ll also explore the Jewish Quarter, including Hezekiah's Wall (the Broad Wall) and the Temple Institute, which provides insight into the rich heritage of Jewish tradition. To immerse ourselves in the local culture, we’ll visit the vibrant Mahaneh Yehuda Food Market, where you can sample delicious local delicacies and experience the lively atmosphere. Jerusalem: A Journey Through Faith and History. We begin our day at the City of David, where we’ll explore the archaeological digs that reveal the remnants of King David's palace and the Siloam Pools, the site of Jesus' miraculous healing of the blind man. Next, we’ll step into the cool, knee-deep waters of Hezekiah's Tunnel, an engineering marvel that reflects the ingenuity of ancient Jerusalem. This immersive experience will connect us deeply to the biblical narrative. Our journey continues to the Garden Tomb, often referred to as the "Protestant Golgotha." Here, we’ll gather for a meaningful communion service, reflecting on the significance of the resurrection in a serene and sacred atmosphere. Later, we’ll visit the Jerusalem Messianic Center, where we’ll celebrate the Jewish Shabbat led by Michael Zinn, the director of CPM Israel. Jerusalem: A Sacred Shabbat Journey. We begin our Shabbat on Mount Zion, visiting the Upper Room, the site of the Last Supper (Luke 22), where Jesus shared profound moments with His disciples. We’ll also pay our respects at King David’s Tomb, a place of deep historical and spiritual significance. Next, we’ll explore the archaeological site of the High Priest Caiaphas' House, where we’ll delve into the events leading up to the crucifixion, reflecting on the trials Jesus faced. Afterward, we’ll return to our bus and journey to Bethlehem, stopping at the Shepherds' Fields, where the angels announced the birth of Christ, creating a peaceful and contemplative atmosphere. We’ll conclude our day at the Garden of Gethsemane, surrounded by ancient olive trees that witnessed Jesus’ poignant prayers on the night of His arrest. The Wilderness of Judah. We begin our adventure as we drive through the stunning landscape of the desert, passing the Inn of the Good Samaritan on our way to the Dead Sea—the lowest point on Earth. Our first stop will be Qumran National Park, home to the remarkable discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, a pivotal archaeological find of the 20th century that offers profound insights into biblical history. Next, we’ll visit the Ahava Factory, where you’ll have the opportunity to purchase renowned Dead Sea cosmetic products, known for their therapeutic properties. Our journey continues to Ein Gedi National Park, a beautiful oasis that provides a serene backdrop for reflection and exploration. From there, we have the option to visit Masada, where a cable car ride will take us to Herod’s Fortress. This historic site is known for the tragic last stand of the Zealots against the Romans, and we’ll have lunch amidst the awe-inspiring ruins. After our time at Masada, we’ll head to the Dead Sea, where you can experience the unique sensation of floating in its mineral-rich waters, a truly unforgettable experience.
