In north-eastern Sardinia, in Tempio Pausania, you have the possibility to live a wonderful experience between art and nature in the Limbara Park.

The experience begins with a visit to the “Organica” Museum along an immersive journey through holm oaks, cork oaks and Mediterranean scrub. Here you will actively explore this very special open-air museum together with an expert guide who will show you the works of art hidden in the woods. The visit continues in the CEDAP exhibition space, a small building of contemporary architecture which hostes the Museum’s temporary exhibitions of contemporary art and photography in its two rooms since 2020.
At the end of the experience, a small tasting of typical Gallura products to enjoy in a naturalistic setting of great value cannot be missing.

The path of the works installed in the woods is approximately 1.5 km long with a slight slope. The works are easily accessible.

CURADUREDDU WOODS

The Curadureddu woods is located on the slopes of Monte Limbara, an imposing massif immersed in the heart of Gallura, near Tempio Pausania. The biodiversity of the forest, the numerous paths and the evocative sceneries offered by the natural pools of the Riu Pisciaroni make Curadureddu one of the most evocative areas of the Limbara. From a naturalistic point of view, the area is characterized by the presence of Mediterranean scrub, holm oaks, oaks and very rare wild orchids. Throughout the year spontaneous periwinkles and daffodils create carpets of colorful flowers. It is possible to see moufflons, woodpeckers and titmice.

ORGANICA MUSEUM

The Organica Environmental Art Museum was born in 2020 to create a dialogue between contemporary art and nature. It is a unique museum in Sardinia that offers the visitor a double experiential journey. Site-specific installations by contemporary artists dot the park-museum creating a highly evocative experience. Parallel to the outdoor itinerary, the CEDAP exhibition space offers exhibitions of visual art and photography by artists who explore the complex relationship between man and nature.

CEDAP

The Cedap (Education and Documentation Center on the Environment and Landscape) is a structure immersed in the Curadureddu Woods, born in 2016 thanks to a project by the architect Antonello Menicucci. The building, designed according to the principles of organic architecture, integrates harmoniously with the nature of the forest. The work is entirely made of local granite, a precious material that has made Tempio Pausania famous as “the City of Stone”.

The experience is not suitable for people with different abilities, but personalized itineraries can be created with advance notice.

PETS

Dogs are allowed if brought with a muzzle and a leash, if they are small dogs a leash is sufficient.

TASTING

The tasting includes a glass of Vermentino from the Cantina Sociale Gallura accompanied by a platter of pecorino cheese, sausage and carasau bread or a selection of local dry sweets. Options for allergies, intolerances and vegetarian and vegan solutions are available upon request at the number on the booking voucher.
