Review of Mikumi and Nyerere National Park Safari

Our recent safari to Mikumi and Nyerere National Parks was an unforgettable adventure! Mikumi, often called the "Serengeti in miniature," impressed us with its vast savannahs and abundant wildlife—we spotted lions, elephants, zebras, and giraffes up close. The Mkata Floodplain was especially breathtaking at sunset.

Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous), one of Africa’s largest protected areas, offered a more remote and wild experience. The boat safari along the Rufiji River was a highlight, with hippos, crocodiles, and countless birds surrounding us. The park’s untouched landscapes and fewer tourists made it feel like a true wilderness escape.

Both parks provided excellent game viewing, but Nyerere’s sheer size and diversity stood out. The lodges were comfortable, and our guides were knowledgeable. Highly recommend this dual-park safari for an incredible Tanzanian wildlife experience!

A 7-day romantic getaway to Zanzibar is an absolute dream for us. From the moment we arrived, the island's charm captivated us. We spent our days relaxing on pristine white-sand beaches, with the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean inviting us for a refreshing swim or snorkel. Evenings were magical, filled with breathtaking sunsets over the ocean, often enjoyed with a refreshing cocktail. We indulged in delicious local seafood, explored the fascinating history of Stone Town's narrow alleys, and even took a spice tour, immersing ourselves in the island's rich culture. The serene atmosphere, combined with the stunning natural beauty and warm hospitality, made this trip truly unforgettable. It's the perfect destination for couples seeking a blend of relaxation, adventure, and romance. We're already dreaming of our next visit, Thank you Makala Travels for making our dreams come true.
