At the indicated time, we’ll pick you up from your desire place in Agra and then set off to the enigmatic Fatehpur Sikri and drive for about an hour to get there.
Welcome to the best-preserved ghost town in the world! We’ll start touring this UNESCO World Heritage Site and admire how its various buildings perfectly combine Indian and Arabian architecture.
Fatehpur Sikri was only inhabited for less than 20 years due to the scarcity of water in the area. The city built by order of the Mughal emperor Akbar in the 16th century fell into oblivion. Its impressive monumental legacy, however, has survived to the present day.
During the visit, we’ll see the impressive Buland Darwaza Gate, the mosque, the tomb of the saint Salim Chishti and many other important landmarks.
After exploring Fatehpur Sikri, we’ll hop back on the bus and travel for two hours to Abhaneri, where we’ll visit the famous Chand Baori cistern. It’s undoubtedly one of the most magical and picture-worthy places in the state of Rajasthan.
We’ll go back in time to the 9th century to talk about the origins of this huge water reservoir that has become one of the most famous monuments in India. You’ll also learn why this area was chosen to house the deepest stepwell in the country.
Lastly, we’ll take you to your desire place in Jaipur. after 8 hours of excursion.
