This Orthodox Christian tour of Israel takes pilgrims on a spiritual journey through the Holy Land, exploring some of the most significant sites in Christianity. The itinerary includes visits to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, and other key locations tied to the life of Christ.
Pilgrims will have the chance to pray at sacred sites such as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Western Wall, and the Mount of Olives, where many important biblical events took place.
The tour also includes visits to the Jordan River, the Sea of Galilee, and the Basilica of the Annunciation, among other holy landmarks. In addition to sightseeing, participants will attend Orthodox liturgies and prayer services, offering moments of reflection and spiritual growth. This pilgrimage provides an opportunity to deepen one’s faith, connect with the roots of Christianity, and experience the profound history and traditions of the Orthodox Church in the land where it all began.

Jerusalem - Old City. We begin our journey on Mount Zion, visiting the Tomb of King David, a significant site that honors this biblical figure. Nearby, we’ll explore the Upper Room, where Jesus shared the Last Supper with His disciples and where the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles during Pentecost. Next, we’ll visit the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built on the site traditionally believed to be the home of John the Theologian. This serene location invites reflection and prayer. We’ll then proceed to Bethesda, the ancient sheep pool where Jesus healed the paralytic, a powerful testament to His compassion and healing ministry. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, believed to stand on the site of the home of St. Joachim and St. Anna, where Mary was born. Here, we’ll take in the significance of this holy place. As we continue, we’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the Temple Mount, a pivotal site in Jerusalem’s history. Our path will lead us along the Via Dolorosa, also known as the Road of Sorrow, where we’ll follow in the footsteps of Jesus on His way to the Cross. We’ll visit the Roman Praetorium in the Antonia Fortress, where the death sentence was pronounced, as well as the Chapel of the Flagellation, marking the place of His suffering. We’ll pause at the Threshold of the Gates of Judgment, known as the “Eye of the Needle”, before arriving at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Here, we’ll have the opportunity to worship at the site believed to be the burial and resurrection place of Christ. Our day will culminate at Calvary and the Stone of Confirmation, where the life-giving Cross was discovered, solidifying the profound significance of this sacred pilgrimage. Bethlehem. Hebron. Our journey begins in Bethlehem, where we will visit the Church of the Nativity, built on the site traditionally believed to be the birthplace of Christ. Here, we’ll explore the Cave of the Nativity and the somber Cave of the Innocents, which commemorates the tragic fate of the Bethlehem babies. We’ll also pay our respects at the cave of St. Jerome, who translated the Bible into Latin, and admire the miraculous icon of the Mother of God known as "Bethlehem." Next, we’ll visit the "Milk Cave," where tradition holds that the Virgin Mary fed the baby Jesus, a touching reminder of His early life. Nearby, we’ll explore the fields of Bethlehem, where Ruth met Boaz and where King David spent his childhood. It was here that he was anointed by the prophet Samuel, marking the beginning of his royal destiny. We’ll also stop at the Church of the Shepherds, an underground church built in a cave where angels appeared to shepherds, announcing the birth of the Savior. Our exploration continues at the Church above the cave of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, followed by a visit to the Monastery of St. Theodosius the Great. This historic site is one of the earliest monasteries, built in a cave where the Magi are said to have rested on their way to Bethlehem. Next, we’ll travel to the Lavra of St. Savva the Sanctified, the only monastery in the Judean desert that continues to uphold the ancient monastic tradition. Our day concludes in Hebron, where we will visit the Trinity Monastery and the Church of the Holy Trinity and Holy Forefathers. We’ll also see the ancient Oak of Mamre, a site rich in biblical significance. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Jerusalem
Jerusalem. Ein Karem. We begin our day with a breathtaking panorama of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, where the city’s rich history unfolds before us. Our first stop is the Russian Spaso-Voznesensky Monastery, located at the site of the Finding of the Head of St. John the Baptist. Here, we’ll visit the Cathedral of the Ascension of the Lord and admire the iconic bell tower, affectionately known as the "Russian Candle." Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at the site of the Ascension of the Lord, often referred to as “Stopochka,” a place steeped in significance. We’ll then visit Gethsemane, where the Russian Monastery of St. Mary Magdalene stands as a testament to faith. Here, we can venerate the relics of Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna and Sister Varvara, as well as admire the miraculous icon of the Mother of God, "Hodegetria." We’ll explore the cave church that houses the tomb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, along with the resting places of St. Joachim, St. Anna, and St. Joseph the Betrothed. The miraculous icon of the Mother of God “Jerusalem” is also located here, adding to the site’s spiritual richness. Next, we’ll return to the Garden of Gethsemane, a place of profound prayer and reflection, particularly the site known as the Church of All Nations (the Church of the Passion of Christ). This church, built over the remains of an ancient Byzantine temple, commemorates Jesus’ fervent prayer before His arrest and crucifixion. Afterward, we’ll head to Ein Karem, known as the "City of Judah," where Zechariah and Elizabeth, the parents of John the Baptist, lived. Here, we’ll visit the site of John the Baptist’s Nativity, as well as the source of the Most Holy Theotokos, a reminder of the Virgin Mary’s visit to her relative, Elizabeth. Our visit to Ein Karem will also include the Gornensky Orthodox Women's Monastery, situated at the site where the Mother of God met with Elizabeth. Finally, we’ll explore the Valley of the Cross, home to the Greek Orthodox Monastery of the Holy Cross, founded at the site of the ancient tree from which the Savior’s cross was made. Monasteries of the Judean Desert, Galilee. Our day begins in Bethany, where we will visit the tomb of Lazarus, who was raised from the dead after four days, a powerful testament to Jesus’ miracle and compassion. Next, we’ll journey into the Judean Desert, renowned for its ancient monasteries and lauras, established during the time of the Council of Nicaea. This rugged landscape holds a rich spiritual history, having served as a retreat for countless monks and hermits. As we pass through Jericho, we’ll see the Monastery of the Temptation, perched on the Mountain of Temptation (Karantal), where tradition holds that Jesus fasted for forty days. We’ll also visit the Monastery of St. Gerasim of Jordan, a serene place that honors the legacy of one of the early Christian saints. Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at the shores of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus called His first disciples—fishermen—into apostolic service. This beautiful region is where He preached, performed miracles, and appeared to His disciples after His Resurrection. In Capernaum, we’ll explore the Monastery of the Twelve Apostles, a site steeped in the teachings and works of Christ. We’ll then ascend the Mount of Beatitudes, the site of the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus delivered His transformative messages of love and forgiveness. Our next stop will be Tabgha, the traditional site of the miraculous multiplication of the loaves and fishes, a remarkable demonstration of Jesus’ provision and grace. Finally, we’ll conclude our day at the Jordan River, a sacred place of baptism and renewal. Here, the waters have washed away the sins of countless pilgrims, and it was here that our Lord Jesus Christ instituted the sacrament of Baptism, marking the beginning of His earthly ministry. Christian Galilee. Our journey begins at Mount Tabor, the sacred site of the Glorious Transfiguration of the Lord. Here, we’ll visit the Monastery of the Transfiguration, where the divine radiance of Christ was revealed to His disciples, illuminating the profound mystery of His nature. Next, we’ll encounter the Miraculous Akathist Icon of the Mother of God, a cherished symbol of faith and devotion that has inspired countless believers. Continuing to Nazareth, we’ll visit the Church of the Archangel Gabriel, located at the Source of the Virgin Mary. This site, rich in biblical history, is where the angel announced to Mary the momentous news of her divine calling. We’ll also explore the Church of the Annunciation, built above the home where the Holy Family lived. This stunning church serves as a powerful reminder of the Incarnation and Mary’s pivotal role in the story of salvation. Our journey will take us to Cana of Galilee, where we’ll visit the church commemorating the First Miracle of Jesus—turning water into wine at the wedding feast. This miracle not only demonstrates Christ’s compassion but also His divine authority over creation. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Tiberias/Nazareth
Christian Galilee. Our day begins in the Valley of Armageddon, the storied site of the final battle between the forces of Light and Darkness. This valley, steeped in prophecy, offers a profound glimpse into the eschatological themes of faith. Next, we’ll head to Haifa, where we’ll ascend Mount Carmel to Mukhraka, the site where the prophet Elijah confronted the pagan priests of Baal. This dramatic location is rich with spiritual significance and serves as a powerful reminder of faith’s triumph over idolatry. In Haifa, we’ll also visit the Russian Orthodox Church of Elijah the Prophet, a beautiful testament to the enduring legacy of this revered prophet. As we continue our journey, we’ll pass through Caesarea, the ancient capital of the Roman procurators. This historic city is notable for its connections to the apostles Peter and Paul, as well as the Palace of Pontius Pilate. Here, we can reflect on the arena where countless Christian ascetics faced martyrdom, a poignant reminder of their unwavering faith. Our final destination is Jaffa (Joppa), where we’ll explore the Orthodox monastery featuring the church dedicated to St. Apostle Peter. Nearby, we’ll visit the burial cave of the righteous Tabitha, a figure whose story exemplifies compassion and faith. We’ll also stop in Lydda to see the Church of the Great Martyr St. George the Victorious, a site honoring one of Christianity’s most celebrated saints. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
