It’s a seven-day spell woven from southern light, ancient stone, and surreal beauty. Begin within the restored soul of Palazzo Piccinno, your sanctuary for deep wellness. Then, step into the living canvas of Puglia. Stand at the edge of Italy in Otranto, where the Adriano meets history. Descend into the cathedral-like awe of the Castellana Caves. Each day is a curated chapter of magic-from olive grove rituals to chef Marco’s dreamlike cuisine. We don’t just show you Italy.
We let you feel its pulse, taste its secrets, and bring home a piece of its timeless, golden soul.
Your waking dream awaits.
Flight to Brindisi or Bari airport. Meeting with private transfer (in the spirit of the tour, this is the beginning of immersion into a "surreal" reality where you are already taken care of). • Arrival at Palazzo.PICCINNO. Welcome dinner in the hotel garden or a nearby authentic trattoria. Introduction to the "Puglia Surrealista" concept from the host. A leisurely evening stroll through the quiet streets of Parabita before bedtime.
Wellness Element: Yoga or meditation in the palazzo garden accompanied by birdsong. • Highlight of the Day: Breakfast by chef Marco Cataldo—a true art form where local products are transformed into edible dreams. This is not just food; it's a performance in the spirit of the season's theme. • A leisurely, intuitive day for acclimatization: reading in a garden hammock, exploring the palazzo's details, relaxation. A light spa ritual (e.g., foot massage) to relieve travel fatigue. • Highlight Element: An evening walk with a local storyteller who will show you the "surreal" corners of Parabita-old facades, hidden courtyards, views of olive groves from the hill.
Morning practice on the terrace overlooking the waking town. • Wellness Practice: An off-site spa day in an olive grove. Massage with warm extra virgin olive oil, body treatments based on local products (wine, almonds, olive). Meeting with the grove owners, olive oil tasting. • A quiet evening for reflection. Farm-to-table dinner.
Wellness Practice: A day of personal silence (silence retreat) or minimal communication. Individual meditations, deep breathing practice, journaling in the atmospheric nooks of the hotel are offered. • Practice "surrealist observation" —sketching, photographing details, trying to capture that very "dreamlike" gaze on reality. • A light tasting dinner (e.g., fish or vegetable-based) in silence or accompanied by specially curated atmospheric music.
Wellness Practice: Dynamic morning yoga or qi gong to awaken energy. • A culinary masterclass from the hotel chef or an invited master in the spirit of "surrealist cuisine" —traditional recipes with an unexpected, playful twist. • An afternoon session of aromatherapy or sound meditation (singing bowls, gong) in one of the palazzo's halls, where the acoustics create a special effect.
Highlight Excursion: A trip to Otranto (the easternmost point of Italy) with its surreal sea views and castle, and to the Grotte di Castellana-fantastic underground caves, true natural surrealism. • Lunch at a coastal fish tavern in Otranto. • Return to the hotel. Farewell dinner in the Palazzo. PICCINNO garden-the culmination of the theme, possibly with live acoustic music or poetry readings.
One last, farewell breakfast from chef Marco —a moment to imprint the taste of "Puglia Surrealista." • Free time for final photos, shopping for local delicacies (olive oil, grape jam). • Transfer to Brindisi/Bari airport and flight home, taking with you not just souvenirs, but a "feeling of a waking dream."
Not at all. "Puglia Surrealista" is a lens, not an agenda. Practically, it means we curate moments that heighten beauty and alter your perspective. It's the magic of a breakfast that looks like a painting, the awe of discovering a hidden grotto, or the profound peace of a silent hour in a sun-drenched courtyard. The schedule has rhythm-mornings for wellness, days for exploration or deep rest, evenings for connection-but within that, there is space for your own intuition. We provide the canvas; you paint your own experience.
The Day of Silence is a guided offering, not a mandate. It is designed as a rare gift of deep restoration in our noisy world. You will be fully prepared with guidelines and suggestions for gentle activities (journaling, drawing, mindful walks). However, we deeply respect personal journey. If you find it challenging, you are welcome to modify it into a "Day of Quiet Contemplation" with minimal, intentional communication. Our guides are there to support, not to enforce. The goal is personal insight, not discomfort.
To preserve the magical, curated atmosphere we describe, groups are intentionally small, typically no more than 10-12 guests. This ensures personal attention and a cohesive community feel. Regarding solo exploration: Absolutely. The itinerary is carefully crafted with built-in "golden hours"-free afternoons or early evenings specifically for you to wander Parabita, sip an espresso alone in the piazza, or simply relax in your room. We believe the balance of shared profound experiences and personal downtime is essential for a truly transformative retreat.
