About this tour

Enjoy a personal pickup from your hotel, cruise ship, or the airport, and see the impressive sight of Mount Montserrat with an expert guide to accompany you!

This tour will take you to the most popular destination outside Barcelona to explore mount-Montserrat with its spectacular views and mountain-top Basilica. On the way to Montserrat you will enjoy a safe and comfortable ride, as well as great views along the way up the mountain. Upon reaching the top, you will be touched and inspired as you explore the magnificent mountain and its spectacular rock formations.

During this tour you can learn about the legend of the Black Virgin and enjoy a performance by the “La Escolanía”, which is the oldest children’s choir in Europe (if available). You can do some walking on your own, shop for local cheese & jam, or just take in the amazing views for a little longer.

You can also choose to extend the tour to a full-day excursion with a visit to a local winery. Enjoy the wine country of Catalunya and learn about the local Cava.

Lastly, we can drop you off at the Sagrada Familia at the end of the tour where you can continue with your audio-guided skip-the-line tickets!

We had been to Malaga before on a cruise and did a city tour, so this time we opted for the Granada/Alhambra tour. It was excellent, Alhambra Palace and gardens are beautiful. It is about a 2 hour drive each way from the cruise port, so the tour was about 8 hours. We were transported on a large bus with a guide, at the Palace we broke into smaller groups, each with a guide. Tickets are timed and must be purchased a head of time, but they are arranged ahead of time. This tour cost less than the one through the cruise line, but was of greater quality I am sure. I would highly recommend Spain Day Tours

We did the Ronda and Mijas tour from the cruise port. It was an excellent tour and well organized and right on time. Although it is not a "guided tour" the person on the bus organizing did provide us with lots of information en route and at the two destinations. The driver was excellent and the bus air conditioned and comfortable. We had twelve people on our tour. Both destinations were really interesting and scenic. Do not hestitate to book this tour. The arrival back at the port was in plenty of time ahead of the last boarding time required for the ship. So obviously the company allows for any possible highway delays or eventualities. 5 star.

We just returned from an 11-day cruise. One of the stops was at Motril, which is the port for Granada. I booked the guided tour of Alhambra with Spain Day Tours. The bus guide, Miguel, was awesome. Very informative. We were picked up on time and returned to the ship with plenty of time. We even had time for lunch in Granada, which is a lovely Spanish city. The highlight of the tour was the 3 hour guided tour of El Alhambra and the gardens of the Generalife. I highly recommend Spain Day Tours. They were professional and kept me informed from the moment I contacted them about the excursion.

September 2024 (Malaga to Alhambra & Bilbao to Guggenheim)

This review is long overdue, but our experiences with Spain Day Tours in September 2024 were exceptional and truly worth sharing.

We booked two shore excursions through them during our cruise:

From Malaga to the Alhambra
From the Bilbao port to the Guggenheim Museum
Both tours were incredibly well-organized, with modern and comfortable transportation. The guides were knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of each destination. A special shout out to Robert, our tour guide at Alhambra. Robert is a gem! He was by far one of the best tour guides we had throughout our stay in Spain!

The Alhambra was absolutely breathtaking — a highlight of our trip — and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao was spectacular, both architecturally and artistically.

Spain Day Tours made everything seamless and enriching. Highly recommended for anyone looking for high-quality, reliable excursions in Spain.
